Welcome to the Diversity Week Planning Web Site.

The team is a group of individuals and societies that have all partnered together to try and bring a positive, proactive approach to bully education in the Prince George and surrounding community.  By working with the community we are developing a Diversity Week for local high schools.  We believe that by exposing students to a wide range of differences in life, students have an opportunity to learn and celebrate differences.  This year the team is taking a multi-tiered approach to five diversities: Multiculturalism, Gender, Sexuality, Abilities, and Spirituality.   First, the students will be exposed to different facts posted around the school based on the subject of the day.  The next part of the project will be that the students will have the opportunity at lunch hour to view different booths set up around the school relating to that subject.  There will also be lunch hour activities for the students to participate in.  At the end of this 5 day event there will be a jeopardy style game that students can participate in to demonstrate their knowledge of diversity in our community.

This project has the ability to involve individuals, societies, and business in spreading the message of diversity   As an individual you could contact the team and volunteer to help out.  If you are involved in a society or group that would be related to any of the subjects you could contact the team and see if you can set up a booth or help with the lunch hour activity.
